Wowee, I think we all know 2020 has been a doozy! The farm season at times has felt like it just blew by, and on other days the work drags on. But I find it extreamly nice to check out into the work and forget about the troubles “out there.” Just as 2020 has had an affect on us all, the farm was also impacted. When we made our bird orders at the beggining of the year, we had planned our normal wholesale sales as well. Then as Covid hit, and everything shut down all thoose preorders where canceled., but it was really to late to cancel the bird orders, and we didn’t know what was going to happen. So here we are with a lot of beautiful food that we need to get out to likeminded folks in our community.
We’ve got pasture raised, fast growing, big white meat breested cornish X for $5/ lb, average weights 3.5-5 lbs. We’ve got pasture raised, slower growing, super flavorful red rangers for $5.25/ lb, average weight 4lbs. We’ve got pasture raised pekin ducks for $6/ lb. And our very favorite pasture raised holiday turkeys are $6.50/ lb. All our birds are moved daily on pasture to enjoy fresh grass & bugs and they are supplimented with a locally sourced, nongmo, and corn/soy free mash.
The one thing that 2020 has taught us is resillance and determination will keep you going. From shut downs to wildfires if we all work together as the community I’ve grown to love then we will get by. While 2020 has been hard, I have never been more proud to call myself an Oregonian. I love this valley, I love the people who live here, and we will get by together.
